Topic: What gives us more pleasure and satisfaction: the pursuit of our desires or the attainment of them?
I believe that the attainment of our desires gives us more pleasure and satisfaction.
When we look at some of the common realistic desires showed among humanity, as more space exploration, we know that all desires have long roads in order to pursue them. However, in many circumstances, such as the ones above, the road towards them can be uncomfortable.
Further space exploration requires ships to be made, more machines to be built, potential lives lost in the process due to these machines failing. The road to it could be so rough that the attainment of this desire is a lot more pleasurable.
How about a more common desire, wanting to go to college? Homework has to get done. Tests have to be taken. Potential sleepless nights may be involved. You may be accepted or rejected.
Due to these circumstances and many others, I believe that the attainment of our desires makes us feel better than the pursuit of them. For many desires, it’s a long road ahead for those who follow them.
